Put Down Your Shield and Stand in the Rain of Blessings

 I can think of so many ways we tend to shield ourselves. We may shield ourselves out of fear.  Maybe because we are afraid of failure, so we never try anything new or different.  We may think, if we put our shield up, we will protect ourselves from that failure.
We may fear the unknown.  So our shield goes back up, and we stay right in our comfort zone.  Exactly where we feel most at ease, missing out on so many new adventures.
Sometimes a #shield goes up to protect our selves from fear of someone hurting our feelings.  So we keep just keep enough distance from people, so we are not to emotionally connected to them.  That way we can’t get hurt.
I can’t help but think, sure we may have protected ourselves from a few disappointments, but look at how many blessings we may have missed out on.

I am a hairdresser by trade.  I have always dabbled in art and have a very strong love for Christ.  That being said, everything else about this little journey has been totally out of my comfort zone.
If someone would have told me years ago, I would have designed my own jewelry line.  That I would also have my very own business at 57 years old, I would have thought they were crazy.  Well, here I am!   The journey has not come without its trials, but I have had so very many blessings.
Our prayer for all of you is that you will not feel as if you need to shield yourself, from love or adventure. Putting down my shield and getting outside of my comfort zone, has resulted in so many unexpected #blessings. You may experience some hardships, but our prayer is that there are many more blessings.
