A gift by definition is something given voluntarily as to show favor. How much time and money do we spend each year purchasing gifts for those we love? Have you ever found that perfect gift that you just couldn’t wait to give? Or received something so special that it made you feel Oh So Special? And there’s those “Just Because” gifts that are unexpected and delightful. The thinking of you card that you received from someone you hadn’t seen in years. The rose that you found on the windshield of your car. Those are the gifts that brighten your day. Hugs from Heaven are what I call the unexpected gifts from our Heavenly Father that remind us that He’s there and loves us so much that He’s sending a “Just Because” moment to brighten our day.
My most recent “Hug” was when I took two of my grandsons swimming at the local pool. We met up with my daughter in law and two granddaughters so the kids could swim together. At around noon, my 11-year-old granddaughter, Trinity, told us to look up at the sun. There was a beautiful rainbow encircling the sun. Now, I’ve seen massive rainbows, even double rainbows, but in my 60 years of life on this earth, I had never seen a circular one surrounding the sun. I was in awe! It was like that beautiful site was a “Thinking of you” gift straight from Heaven. It made me feel so special and loved to have been given that moment. Hopefully, you’ve experienced those moments too. Something that spoke to your heart and thrilled your soul. Just there for a moment but made a lasting impression.
We pray for you today that you may receive a “Hug from Heaven.” A beautiful moment that speaks to you, reminding you of your Father’s love and that He is thinking of you. Watch for it! Feel the warmth of His love.
